Steve H. Orr founded Orr Financial Group in 1995 with a simple philosophy: every client deserves customized advice, personalized service, and a financial strategy designed for every stage of life—not just a single product or investment solution.
With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Steve has dedicated his career to helping individuals, families, business owners, and retirees make confident financial decisions. As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), he believes in putting clients' interests first and building long-term relationships based on trust, education, and integrity.
Steve began his career in the insurance industry, where he quickly discovered that his clients needed more than insurance products—they needed comprehensive financial guidance. That realization inspired him to establish Orr Financial Group as an independent advisory firm capable of delivering holistic financial planning, investment management, retirement income strategies, insurance trategies, estate planning coordination, and wealth preservation under one roof.
Throughout his career, Steve has been recognized as a trusted financial educator and media contributor. He has appeared on Fox Business, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and Bloomberg Television, and is a published author. His passion for financial education has also led him to teach courses at Victoria College, Houston Baptist University, Katy ISD, and the University of Houston–Victoria, helping individuals better understand investing, retirement planning, and financial decision-making.
Steve holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 registrations with LPL Financial and is licensed in Life, Health, Disability Income, Long-Term Care Insurance, Fixed and Variable Annuities, and Variable Life Insurance.
What truly sets Steve apart is his commitment to treating every client like family. Rather than focusing solely on managing investments, he believes in helping clients navigate life's financial milestones—from building wealth and preparing for retirement to creating lasting legacies for future generations. Many of the clients Steve first served decades ago remain clients—and close friends—today, a testament to the lasting relationships he values.
Outside the office, Steve enjoys flying his Piper Aerostar, golfing, scuba diving, skiing, and competing in offshore fishing tournaments throughout Texas and around the world. He's also known for his impressive tenor voice—often compared to Steve Perry of Journey—and most of all, he treasures spending time with his children and three exceptional grandchildren.
